Hey y'all! I know it's been quite a while but I'm back now. 2023 felt like it lasted two seconds for me. So much happened that I keep forgetting all of it was in one year.
Settled into a new apartment.
I started a new job.
Got engaged.
Gave talks and spoke on a panel.
Went to the American Library Association's Annual Meeting (a conference for librarians and library workers).
Went to SteamyLitCon (A hella diverse Romance book con).
Met some of my favorite authors!
Started writing two books!!! (One Literary Fiction and one Cozy Mystery)
Started planning my wedding.
Co-taught a college course.
Made new friends!
Read a whole lot.
Learned some of Palestine's History and called for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Worked on my mental health.
Gained a chosen sister!
Looking at this list, I know I did a lot, but I still feel behind. I haven't been able to achieve some of the personal goals I wanted to as I juggled all of the outward-facing projects and events. What I’m most grateful for is making it through another year.
So while I am definitely back in this bookish space, I want y'all to know I'm still gonna be posting a bit less than many of my book influencer peers. I wish I could be more like them in this sense, but I have to accept that POTS makes me tire more easily, I'm getting married soon, and I have to give myself grace.
With allllllll of that said, stay tuned for my next posts on book highlights, fave books I read in 2023, new bookish goals, and books I'm excited to read this year.
Since I'm going to be spending a lot more time writing this year, I've created two new profiles:
Substack for writing updates: https://substack.com/@bookishafrolatina
Ko-fi for any donations y'all might want to send my way to support my work: https://ko-fi.com/bookishafrolatina
Thank you all for your continued support!
